MIG / MAG (FCAW) Welding Helmet/Hood #153

We received our Flux-Cored Arc Welding ("Gasless MIG") machine #152 last week and I've fired it up and welded a few test pieces. But I cannot see the weld pool while operating the machine.

The first step is going to be to adjust the settings of my existing ("basic") helmet. Which is what I'm doing this morning.

But I'm inclined to have a dedicated Flux Core helmet to minimise switching time between MMA and FCAW. ⏳

Currently considering: JALUWELD True Color with a 100 x 97 mm window https://www.amazon.es/-/pt/gp/product/B09ZGVKVXK

Another option is a mid-range helmet from YESWELDER: https://www.amazon.es/-/pt/dp/B09B527JZZ

The LYG-Q800D-ME is good because there are easily available parts specifically replacement film: https://www.amazon.es/-/pt/dp/B09Y5L9PPY/

Not "cheap" for a piece of plastic. But good that you can have renewed helmet for a lot less than the full price of a new one. 💭

Today I adjusted the settings on my cheapo (€30) Leroy Merlin helmet and it worked well. It's not "True Color", it's a terminator Green Tint, but got the job done well. 👌
