@nelsonic Yes to being lockable (although this can be retrofitted) and yes to being dual-purpose (seating also).
I don't think I quite see the vision yet! I saw this as being on the floor to serve as seating and not wall mounted but I'm sure you'll explain it ๐
And will it be in the corner and 'out of the way'?
@iteles sadly, it cannot be in the corner out-of-the-way because of where the speaker cables terminate. ๐ But to maximise the "cleanability" going to wall-mount with a 12cm gap underneath. ๐ OK to proceed with sketch? ๐
At present our AV receiver is sitting on its side on the floor of the leisure room:
itโs untidy, looks bad and crucially makes it difficult to clean that area. So โฆ I want to build a shelf to contain all the components and make it nice and tidy.
Todo
@iteles the home cinema system cost us a decent chunk of cash in 2019 and has since gone up in price! ๐ Question: should the cabinet for the system be lockable? it would still be operated using the remote control without unlocking it, so anyone can use it, they just cannot remove it from the premisesโฆ ๐ โโ๏ธ Or is that a slippery slope considering how many other high value + easy-to-take tools we have in the workshop/office/ etc โฆ ๐ญ
Why do this now?
Work outside has halted due to rain. ๐ง๏ธ ๐ขโณ if we can finish the leisure room, we could make it the new music & games room for everyone and everything would have a designated place and it could be super tidy and a nice place to be. ๐ญ
I donโt consider it to be โhigh priorityโ, but if it was done then it would be done and we wouldnโt have to look at clutter in this room anymore. ๐ค๐ผ
