Slider should display the value being selected #12

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I see this as a feature request to solve a usability problem. When I am using the slider, I have no feedback of what value is selected from the range.

Describe the solution you'd like I'd like to see the value being selected as I use the slider. I would like to have a small box that moves along the slider selection that shows the selected value in the range, so I know what value I am selecting

Describe alternatives you've considered An alternative is doing a dynamic map between the slider value and a label/chip, but it would be great if the slider itself can provide that out of the box, as this is always needed

Our team is suggesting to have the amount value on the selection bubble o the slider. we know the design guidelines doesnt say anything about displaying the amount on top. But our team is requesting that, can you please let me know if this is achievable in 21.2?

We don't find any issue related to the functionality of the component:

I understand the changes requested are merely visual and we add them as feedback to the component review.

This request will not be contemplated for 21.2

Hi Senthil,

We have created a roadmap item for the slider design review: dxc-technology/halstack-react#841 The issue described (Slider should display the value being selected) is not really an issue, since the value is shown in an input field next to the slider, but we will have this feedback into consideration when we decide to work on this re-design.

Our product manager/team prefer to have the amount value on the selection bubble on the slider. Could you please consider this as an enhancement/improvement to the slider ?
