I think that property may be missing in some of the files, which translates 
into bad EOLs when opening with notepad.exe in Windows

This was actually an encoding problem. The copyright symbol copied from the web 
for Windows was making some files be encoded as ISO-8859.

The solution was to delete the copyright symbol and find one with UTF-8 
encoding.
