Reinstalling interpreter fails

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Using the ase app
2.Tried dropping the zip files onto the sd
3.I loved using  python tomake a script on the fly.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A python interpreter at the terminal. Blank screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android 1.6

Please provide any additional information below.
I tried downloading all extras but where do I unzip the to on the sd? My
phone isn't rooted.

I'm not exactly clear about what steps you're taking to do the installation. 
Manual 
installation is not suggested. Instead, from the script list press Menu, View, 
Interpreters, Add, and then select Python. It should download and install the 
interpreter for you.

I'm closing this because it's stale and the installers have been revamped as 
part of pulling them out into separate APKs.
