How to demonstrate this, I am currently working on integrating proto and client into conda-forge environment and the tests pass for osx: https://github.com/conda-forge/staged-recipes/pull/27393 (proto lib: https://github.com/conda-forge/staged-recipes/pull/27201) (currently, having some difficulties with win and VC, though I hope to resolve them)
