May not be much help, but I thought I would give further information about why you would see an question mark in place of text. This normally happens due to text encoding problems or font issues such as unsupported characters, character encoding mismatch, data corruption, missing glyphs, etc . I seen this happen in not just neofetch, but other systems as well. Try using an different text encoding and/or font.
I tried using a different font and it also shows the question mark. I also tried reinstalling the MesloLGS NF font but it still shows the question marks.
You mentioned try using a different text encoding, how would I do that? I'm not sure what you mean by that.
To change your text encoding, refer to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Locale.
Though before you do that, I did take a look at your config file a little more closely, and may have found the issue. In the Info Separator
section, you have the separator set to \x80
, which refers to an character range outside of ascii. Try an actual valid ascii character, or change your locale to unicode.
Yep that fixed the problem. I just used an invisible character as the replacement and that fixed the issue. Thank you.
Description
For some reason my neofetch displays question marks after the type like distro, host etc. I am using powerlevel10k and MesloLGS NF. How do I fix this?
