Jeremy 3: My thoughts on the ""God's desire for me" section #4

I am aware that I have a tendency to reject myself and thereby take God's role as the one who declares right and wrong. As a result I would personally want to highlight the original goodness of God's design of us and our having been made in his image. Using some "adoption" and "chosen" language has also been helpful in reminding myself of my worth.

Excellent point. Upon rereading, I often frame this issue as

  1. believing a lie or lying to yourself, either by:
    1. diminishing God's power ("I'm too bad, God's love can't possibly be strong enough to heal my sin")
    2. telling yourself that your wisdom that you're garbage is better than God's wisdom in choosing to love and place value on you and
    3. 2) not following God's direction. I generally read his second commandment (love your neighbor) as expansive to also include oneself.

I recognize how this wasn't adequately explicit in my text, and added some extra words to highlight its importance. Do those ideas come out obviously enough now?
