I feel you on putting off the style guide - seeing you put it at number 1 reminded me to do that too. Thanks for that storage tid-bit! Also your illustrations are super sweet!

Nice update! That's great to know about the infinite data storage via Box useful for collaboration with outside OSU folks. Researching wolves has got to be one of the coolest projects-- except for maybe studying jaguars in Guatemala.

Your title slide is beautiful! Props to you for getting your collaborators on board for using GitHub, that'll make working with project partners a lot easier as your project continues to progress.

Great job Ellen, you are insanely productive! I could not agree more with what you said about "deep focus" - I am also hoping to be able to block off more time in Winter Term but it is definitely frustrating when you know what to do but aren't able to get to that mental state in the time allotted. Thanks for sharing, you're doing great!

Amazing that you're so ahead of schedule! I really relate to the deep focus thing- finding several hours to work on this kind of thing has definitely been a huge issue for me too. Jaguars in Guatemala sounds like so much fun & I hope we get to hear more about it!

  2. Re: deep focus, I totally hear you. My challenge to you is this: who is in control of your calendar? I challenge you to 'pay yourself first' by blocking off time for yourself for deep focus, as if it were a meeting. You may have to schedule it weeks out in advance. I do recurring blocks each week.

Its amazing to hear that you are ahead of schedule, congratulations on that achievement! I like how you were able to identify how to continue moving forward with the project given the extra time by circling the next phase of your workflow diagram. I've used Box storage before to work with collaborators and it is actually really easy. Let me know if you have any questions... would be happy to help!

Sounds like your project is cruising along smoothly! I totally relate to the "deep focus" tasks with things that are cognitively heavy. I agree with Ben about blocking off chunks of time to make sure you have that time where you're most productive.
