In our environment, we manage around a hundred Dymo labelwriter printers distributed throughout our campus. Each printer is connected to a host PC and shared over the network. If the Printer is swapped, replaced or even connected to a different USB port it can cause issues for our users.
Purpose
I am seeking a way to programmatically discover the Printer serial number or unique hardware identifier connected to each PC over the network.
Assist with inventory records
Verify if a printer has been swapped or moved
