This is yet another project code-architecture proposal.

Main Modules

• front:
  • description: The library frontend. Exposes the end-user settings API, provides type hint and schema-validation.
  • input (from storage): dict
  • output (to end-user): populated-schema object
• storage:
  • description: Responsible for merging/evaluating setting_trees. Processing may or may not happen with intermediate objects.
  • input (from loading): dict
  • output (to front): dict
• loading:
  • description: Responsible for loading data from various types of sources
  • input (from system environ): binary
  • output (to storage): dict

Secondary Modules

• cli: should be simple when the main modules are working
• shared: common things, like constants, exceptions and utils

Next Steps

• Define frontend API integrated with dump engine (storage/loading)
• Implement a plugin system (pluggy) for customizable things
• ?
