can not load network list #68

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open networkselect
2. search
3. no result, even when network is first turned on (by the tool)

What version of iwi are you using?
SVN latest of 30 may

Use the getlogscommand (see downloads) script to capture the driver logs
and post it here.
see attachments

If you get a kernel panic (driver load or using networkselector):
- boot with option -s
- type sh etc/rc
- wait for the driver finish loading
- call networkselector
- take a picture of the screen and post it

note:
the keyboard/mouse sometimes hangs, but no kernel panic.
This might be caused by the driver, it happens when the system is used a
few minutes (right after the dump of the logging which is attached)

Is does seem that the network select tool does requests a scan to the driver:

i did the scan in an other area as the first scan, i did had an access point
without
encryption available right next to it, and there was one more AP from one of my
neighbours >:)

Doesn't it should come up with a network list of available and encrypted.
it dooes "sees my accesspoint" (mac mini configured as bridge to my airport
extreme)
this info came up when it booted (which took a long time), but it will not
associate
with it nor to i see the AP show up in the network select tool when i am logged
in.

oh btw, i do see a new network interface with the correct mac adress.
is there more info a can provide to make it a bit easyer to debug?
