During the implementation for French participants :

• The search for an outlet to install the Gatebox often required the person to move some furniture around the house. In addition, a table was also needed to place it on, which was not always easy to find in the participants' homes. The installation of the Gatebox therefore obliged the participants to change the layout of their furniture, which did not make the installation easy for them.
• The French voice is unpleasant to the ear
• Some words are still in Japanese and English, which does not make the device easy to use
• Some participants described the European Man character as not very interactive. Indeed, it does not move and is very static.

Feedback from French participants after one week of use :

• Asks for a Qr Code but the participant can't figure out how to give him the Qr Code and why he is asking for a Qr Code
• Lights up in blue and instructions in Japanese and participants don't know what to do
• No real interest: just gives the weather and news not really interesting (for some participants, it just gives the news and nothing else)
• "We get bored"

I will summarise what we have learned about how the Gatebox works, maybe it will help.

• To start up and update, the Gatebox will ask for two QR codes: the first to set the wifi data, the second to associate it with the https://devicemanager.gatebox.ai/ account.

• With the avatar active, if you press and hold the G button for a few seconds you can reset the account (the QR code prompt for the account appears again).

• If the device does not detect the wifi network, the QR code prompt for wifi will appear again.

• After activating the European avatar (EVITA_EU_1), it is necessary to enter the third QR code, which can be obtained after registering the gatebox on the eVita dashboard.

• Regarding switching the device on and off: to switch it ON, simply press the power button (we have to be patient, just to switch on the LED light on the base takes more than 15 seconds); to restart it, press and hold the button for 7 seconds; to switch it OFF, press and hold the button 14 seconds.
