New Role: Mercenary #200

Like the Lawyer, I've been sitting on this one for two months testing it in private lobbies, so I'm pretty happy with it and think the bugs are ironed out.

This role is based on The Mercenary in Throne of Lies: https://tol.fandom.com/wiki/The_Mercenary

Essentially, the Mercenary is a benign neutral role, and possibly the only truly neutral role in that they couldn't care less who wins (as long as it's not a win-alone role like Executioner and Jester). They can make trouble for everyone in the process of doing the only thing they care about: getting paid.

The Mercenary can use their Protect ability like a Medic shield, but rather than stopping kills, it absorbs abilities, and will always break when it stops an ability. The target's ability is put on cooldown when the Mercenary absorbs it, but it is, by default, a short cooldown (only 10 seconds); this is to prevent them from just immediately doing it again, without having the Mercenary completely ruin things for the killers. Unlike the Medic, the Mercenary can hot-swap who they are protecting, removing it from their previous beneficiary. Each ability the Mercenary absorbs rewards them with 1 brilder (currency).

The Mercenary only wins if they survive the game and have the number of brilders set for them in the mod settings. To help them survive, they have a self-protection ability called Don Armor. When they don their armor, they expend 1 brilder, and can no longer be targeted by any ability for the duration. Their Protect shield is removed and they cannot Protect people while their armor is on. The Mercenary's shield is also removed each time a meeting is called.

It's a rather complicated role, but the Neutral Benign category desperately needs interesting roles, and it's quite fun to play in practice. I also very much appreciate having a "wildcard" neutral role that will happily side with the killers, even openly, in order to secure their win.
