I Wrote a new add group with better keywords (I think) and I CAN'T get the add preview to show me much.
Ads
Site
Pass the search exam.
I checked today and I already have some remarketing lists.
The next action is to leave it alone for a week, and then either rebuild the ads so traffic comes in or start a new project that improves the funnel on the website.
Okay, it's been pretty rough. The two next actions are:
Reviewing the ads:
The current THING is to be rewritting the landing pages so that they include the right words from the keywords.
...and generally bring everything into allignment.
We're currently up to spending about $4k
We are up to 67% (although most of that is Project Real and we're not seeing much response to it...)
I appealed the canceled ads
To improve the 'landing page experience' for my White Water Writers ads I have

I think there might be a problem with me trying to improve volume so much - in that it's volume that follows from quality rather than the other way around.
Let's think about what we can do:
I reviewed the funnel, and the obvious places to improve are the teachers.html which is wordy and a bit low and contact.html which is ugly and doesn't mention the free book. I added the relevant tasks to the issue. In the process it occured to me that I should change how vision gets the tasks.
This is the difference between changing the teacher.html before: after:
So... bascially none.
Okay, so here's what I think I'm reading.
Last Monday I rearranged the site to have multiple pages - I put the 'contact and about us' on a separate page and I did the same with the 'why it's cool' page. There was an improvement - about 1 in 50 visitors downloaded the files after the change compared to 1 in 85 after. That's nice.
The really interesting thing was this: nobody downloaded the files from the session pages: gasp. Like nobody. In fact, hardly anyone visited the session pages at all. They all download the full set of files and then go and look at them offline. Literally ten times as many people downloaded the full set of files than even looked at most of the individual pages.
Which is super strange right? But, you know, 'meet people where they are' - so it might be worth rearranging the page so that the download is the main thing and we remove the other pages.
It's not really part of this but I've created some A/B testing to improve the route.
The A/B testing was covered here: https://equalitytime.co.uk/6609/2022/02/22/landing-page/
Today I've fixed a bug in projectreals conversions and added three new ad groups to the White Water Writers ads.
So we have this problem:
I suspect that this was caused by the site loosing it's https status for a while so I've edited - but the status hasn't changed to anything like 'checking' so I don't know if that's made any difference.
FWIW I created an entirely new campaign and first ad to see if that works - I'll give it a tune up if it does.
We have a nice Google Grant, but we aren't doing enough with it. We want to be using up a lot more of the adds, and we want to have worked out a way to get those ads to convert.
Resources
Steps
[x] Check the quality scores on your ads.
[x] Find out how to rotate my ads
[x] Add a bunch of sitelines: 8 to 10 apparently.
[x] White Water Writers should have a call extension
[x] Find the ad's quality scores.
[x] Process the ads that where added from the keyword planner.
[ ] Make a calendar event to go back through the training for things to pick up.
[ ] Check if we have remarketing lists for our sites.
[ ] The novels should have their own ads, that would be cool.
