We are very unhappy with the quality of service we get from dropbox and it restrains us in a few ways.

Particularly because we run a bunch of services online, all of which operate in different ways and many of which could really do with various programs being available.

I want an online space that:

Can serve websites
That I can install any programs I like and run arbitrary code on

So it's starting to look like having a genuine virtual machine is a good idea.

Disadvantages:

Would have to do our own backups, and other safety updates
Would be hard to give someone 'partial permissions'
It's yet another thing to learn about
