From a starting point* of "this is the metadata that's important for my community," provide training on (non-exhaustive list):

how to find/identify existing terms in schema.org (and others) that are appropriate
how to define new terms if no useful terms exist already
how to define requirements in a profile (using MUST/SHOULD/MAY etc)
how to handle profile versioning
how to make a profile machine actionable

It might also be appropriate to provide training on how to get to this stage, as an optional precursor module
