Below is email from Katie Clark. Wanted to capture that this was happening so that it could be tested at the appropriate time. Not sure of impact across XC.
Next week will be loading into Voyager about 3,500 records for Chinese and Japanese monographs which are available through ILL from the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) in Chicago.
For several years, we have been discussing ways to promote the services that are available to us through our paid membership in CRL. One idea was to make their collections
more visible to our community by loading the records into Voyager. We have never done this before, though there are some libraries that have chosen to load ALL the CRL records into their OPAC.
We decided to take a more cautious approach and only load a subset. We choose Chinese and Japanese monographs in order to support the new Asian Studies program.
The location for these books will read “Center for Research Libraries (Chicago, IL). There is also a link in the record “Request through Interlibrary Loan. Clicking the link will send the users to Illiad.
After they log in, the form automatically fills in the title and imprint. (see examples below)
Just a reminder, faculty and students can keep CRL materials until they are requested by another CRL member. This means that they may potentially be able to keep the material for months, even years.
Be aware that not all the records have subject headings. Stephen will dedupe records based on OCLC number so there should not be many duplicate records, but there may be some.
In the future, we may load another subset of CRL records or maybe even consider loading all of them.

These books have a unique location code "CRL" so we could specify in the location display name chart that the books must be requested via ILL, as the link allows them to do in voyager. We would then probably want to add a link in Voyager to the ILL request form. This would not be a functional as Voyager, though, since the Voyager link automatically populates the ILL request. Should we have the link take the user back through Voyager somehow? Another difficulty with these is that by including something different from the standard Voyager display location we'll have to remember to re-edit that file every time we receive an update from VMT. I don't see an obvious best solution here.
