No need for multiple "storages" inside Drupal. There will be only one storage, so some tables/columns could be removed. For eaxample: http://drupal.org/node/1089340#xc_sql_metadata - the xc_sql_metadata table has two unnecessary, and never used fields: location_id, and timestamp. They should be removed. Also http://drupal.org/node/1089340#xc_location table should be removed, and change every reference to it, including database schema, and PHP codes, and documentation.

this means no need for multiple "storage locations" in Drupal, only one storage location for XC.
