[~mwesley] and [~pkiraly] will put together a list of items in the current Drupal 6 releases that they think are good candidates for being improved when we move to Drupal 7.

I have seen no action on this and as we are getting close to considering a 1.0 release, does anyone see a reason to keep this open or take any action now? [~pkiraly] or [~trung]?

Some ideas:

get rid of the location feature
refactoring long functions: split them to shorter ones
refactoring files: move standard hooks such as menu to external files
Solr update to the latest version
more tests, measuring coverage
refactoring NCIP modules, to be more object oriented, separating the request and response object creation
