We have the potential task of upgrading the OAI Toolkit from using Struts
version 1 to using Struts version 2. I don't believe a firm decision has
been made on whether or not we will be doing this, but I am putting the
issue in the tracker just to keep it on our radar. Things to consider when
making this decision are:
-Potential value of being able to say all of our software uses the same
version of each plugin/library
-Potential that code developed for the OAI Toolkit might be used in other
toolkits (and whether different versions of struts between the two would
cause any problems; it may not)
-How much time/effort is involved in moving from one version to the next
(are there significant changes in things like method calls that would
require us to re-write code, or were changes all behind the scenes stuff
that we don't have to worry about)
-Value gained from upgrading (how does it help/improve the OAI Toolkit)
