How to make the background transparent? #180

I have tried to set the backgroundColor to [UIColor clearColor] to no avail. Is this currently possible?

Same problem here. Any solution @Stunner yet? This is causing a problem with the background colour blurring out on my images at the last page because of the fade-out effect between pages when scrolling.

Simple removal of bgImage properties from pages of example show clear background color:
