Hi Emanuele,
I have been studying the proposal that I made on the mac-style keyboards. Apple
manufactures three types of keyboards: ANSI (U.S.), ISO (European) and JIS
(Japan). With this in mind, you only need to use 3 schemes and then adapt the
rendering to the country and desired position (bottom, middle and above)
through the preferences panel.
I think the size of MTP is enough for the full keyboard and thus avoid having
to switch to numbers and symbols.
I am attaching a pdf file with all 3 types of keyboard and placement options in
the MTP (European keyboard in the image corresponds to a Spanish keyboard).
If you agree, I can design the layouts of the three types in PNG format.
Regards,
José Carlos Montes Rios

Interesting idea, the keys are a bit tiny, but it should work, at least for
those of us who don't have big fingers. Keys are still physically bigger than
the iPhone on screen keyboard, at least. The arrow keys might become a bit of
a pain to use though.
I can make a prototype of the layout to see how usable it is. If you can send
me the layout images in PNG, I'd appreciate that

On November 16 I sent some pictures to test layouts. I think the file
"AppleKeyboardUSA_blank.png" can be used for the prototype. In this image I
adjusted the size so that the keys have the same size as the current
IOSMain.png. Try that file, and if you give the okay, then will develop
versions of the 3 types of keyboard included in the pdf.

Hello, Emanuele
Sorry but I've been busy. I enclose the keyboard layouts I promised you. I hope
to get in time for version 0.4.
On the other hand, recently I realized that trackpad size on MBA 11" is smaller
than the one on 13" (same width but less high). Would have to make a new layout
for that model if I have time.
Best regards
