Stumbled over missing protoc when trying it out so I added docs for it.

On Mac it's probably also available via homebrew but I don't have one here to verify so I left that out.

Great! Thanks a lot! I'm traveling for the next 3 weeks, but I'll try to add installation instructions for mac whenever I get a chance. :)
