I have he same problem, have there been any findings regarding the issue?

2017-12-30.QlikSenseGovernance.log I have the same issue. On two clean Qlik Sense instances I've installed the qs-gc and can execute "Governance" collecting data but failing on the QVD creation. Any help is appreciated! qsgc_error

Hi Eric,

The issue you are seeing is not the one I reported in this issue (#76). This issue #76 is not about an Error in QVD generation. . I will open a separate issue about the QVD Generation error; note that there are script edits that can fix that error. I'll document those edits in the separate issue report.

This issue #76 is about not seeing errors, in fact about not seeing any meaningful status messages of any kind. Rather, the Governance Collection Status windows shows only a single message of "Governance Collection will run on the server and request will not await a response". Your Governance Collection Status is showing a bunch of messages, so you are not experiencing this issue, #76.

As to work-arounds for this specific issue #76, I believe that if one opens a remote desktop session to the host where the Governance Dashboard collector is actually installed ("HostA" in the original issue report), then opens a browser on HostA to http://HostA:8591, then more verbose messages will be displayed in the Governance Collection Status window. This work-around requires remote desktop rights on the server where the Governance Collector runs; such rights may not always available, so this work-around is of value on in certain cases.

Cheers,

J. R.

Hi again Eric,

I believe that the specific issue you are seeing might be related to issue #78. Issue #78 includes a fix; please try it out !

Cheers,

i am also facing the same issue. anybody found a solution to this problem ?

qlikperf commented 6 years ago

Hi gauravjindal04,

My experience when the "request will not await a response" message is shown is that the Governance MetaData collector succeeded, but the QVD Generator had failed. The solution that I have found works in this case is to Start the Governance QVD Generator Task directly from the QMC (top of screen shot below). If that fails, then Duplicate the QVD Generator into your Work area (bottom of screen shot) and apply the script edit fix as documented in issue #78.

governance files in qmc

@qlikperf what was the option that you selected?

I am having the same message when I selected the option Harvest Access Control Metadata.

And I checked the folder userAccess and wasn't created any file.

To use the Governance QVD Generator for Qlik Sense, in some part of the code, the xml files from this folder is necessary.

Best regards.
