[MOVED to trello] 3D cylinders mapped with rnd/palette color horizontal stripes

if cylinder is vertical, stripes are horizontal

(I think I made a script that does rnd/palette horizontal stripes; that could be used for this)

with painterly (filter forge?) effects on the stripes.
with bevel on the cylinder edges.
with rust effects?
this is 3d.
but the 2d textures could be art on their own.
arrangements of these.
actual 3d physical real-world sculptures like this.
not just on cylinders--other shapes too?
explore the FOSS parametric (engineering) modeler programs I found to make these? make them via scripting?
