Agenda:

  1. Overview of the learning goals for last week and learning goals for this week (5 min) Remotes diagram
  2. Ask a few students to show their portfolio page, share feedback (10 min)
  3. Check if students have any questions/obstacles from last week. Practice writing and answering discussion board technical questions using student examples before answering any questions yourself (20 min)
  4. Practice code review with the pull requests from last week (10 min)
  5. Go over coding challenge for next week (first map and home towns) (20 min)
    • Demonstrate to students how to find issues assigned to them -- they should all see this weeks reading and coding challenges (there's two this week)
    • Show the textbook page, highlighting the demo video and instructions
    • Explain how to submit portfolio posts to THIS repository earthlab-education/Earth-Analytics-AY24. [Video link here]
    • Review the portfolio post grading rubric and answer any questions (or forward to Elsa) [Video link here]
  6. Discuss the reading from last week (10 min)
  7. Get started on home towns activity (any remaining time)
