You will add to this portfolio throughout the semester, so that when you're done you can show it to potential employers or collaborators who want to see what you can do. Instructions, including learning goals and video demonstrations, are available in your textbook, Unit 1. Note that some of these early videos were developed for a program called the ESIIL Data Shortcourse, so if you see that you're in the right spot. You will also find some background reading about version control and text files at the beginning of Unit 1. We suggest reviewing the entire unit, following along by creating your own portfolio as you go.
