Divide grid data by region/country

For the geography views, we want to to be able to filter the grid data by African Union region and potentially by country (lower priority). I have a geojson with both countries and African Union regions that should make this easier to do

Are we dividing the data this way or just adding a navigation tool for regions?

we decided ultimately just to use the lil map to zoom to a region. the values for the colors come from another data source they shared that I made into a spreadsheet here
