For the record this is how the menu was looking for me, don't want you to think I'm insane

@kelsey-taylor I updated the initial map bounds to be more zoomed out, does that work for you? My impression was the designs had all those elements (sidebar, legend etc) as an overlay on top of the map, so that the map area was full screen

@mwbernard We can also nix the one sentence description about the plant to free up more space in the sidebar. Maybe a stretch goal could be to have those appear on hovering the plant name? Definitely want to be able to see everything on one screen if possible

@mwbernard @kelsey-taylor re the map bounds, I was thinking it could take the height/width of the page and everything (header, sidebar, legend, etc.) is on a 90% opacity background. I think it'd feel pretty immersive this way and not get in the way of the user. When a user loads, however, it should take up a similar amount of space as in the mocks. Is this doable?

@kelsey-taylor could you give this another once over? I dialed back all the font sizes... the crop select menu on chrome still has pretty large text, but I think we'll need to live with that for now if its not a deal breaker. Id rather not implement a custom menu on this tight a time frame. especially with mobile and responsiveness being a priority that would be a pretty big blow in terms of accessibility and general design

@mwbernard looks great to me! only note is that the default map view should just be default, not with the sand+soil layers on (not sure if that happened here or elsewhere)
