This is probably my fault, it looks like I never attached a license to my original work. I'm not sure how much of my code remains, but I'd be fine with putting an Apache v2 or MIT license on it.

Without this, it can't legally be used by anybody. I assume that's not your intention, could you license it? Perhaps using the same license as Node itself:
