Some applications from the following lists may become important/critical for folks, it would be good to know which ones they are, to join forces together:

Furthermore, near end-of-year, the versions mentioned in this one have to be promoted to latest and greatest (ie. providing a 2nd refreshed working environment for bioinformaticians): https://github.com/fgeorgatos/easybuild.experimental/blob/master/users/fgeorgatos/HPCBIOS/HPCBIOS_Bioinfo-goolf-1.4.10.eb

This is a long-term request, please supply feedback until end-of-October, so that we can react on it thereafter, in the optimal way.

I suggest to recycle this issue for bioinfo activity during the upcoming hackathon in Cyprus

Good idea.

I plan to outline some projects/tasks people can work on during the hackathon, and updating software you care about was going to be one of them. Hopefully by then we'll have support for fat easyconfigs, and we can let people tackle part of the huge effort to migrate current sets of easyconfigs to single fat easyconfig instances...

fyi. as you perhaps noticed, I made an effort over last couple of days to run a bunch of PR tests, mainly in the bio category. I'd like to invite others to do the same (from whomever the awaiting PRs may come from), in order to make EB a very strong tool in the Life Sciences domain; just for a start ;)

Adding extra packages or according to popular demand and refreshing versions (regardless of research domain) is something we already do to the maximum of our capacity.
