promoted EasyBuild in bug ticket for DOLFIN, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/dolfin/+bug/1016540/comments/12
Also this is a good list of recipients, due to potential impact: http://software.intel.com/en-us/blackbelt
We'll soon have the Intel toolkit @ Uni.Lu, anytime within next 3 months; then we'll start interacting with these fellows.
Hi folks,
I hope it's not too late, but I believe you should give a thought to this one (24hrs left to reconsider ;-)
https://fosdem.org/2013/call_for_main_speakers/ SUGGESTED TITLE: Building Applications for Science and beyond
cheers, Fotis
ps. AND I fully thank Kenneth (wearing his jacket right now) for coming around in the hackathon. (we have more pending work than what we managed really to do progress with but OK!)
The main track is quite a high goal, but we should definitely try to get a talk on fosdem, I did not know the submission deadline was this close. I'll look into it :-)
I believe a talk in the FOSS for Scientists devroom @ FOSDEM 2013 is more realistic: http://slayoo.github.com/fosdem2013/
I would think a talk at FOSDEM is really worth it. Maybe we should aim for both a lightning talk (15 minutes) and a talk in that devroom jens pointed out?
Let's sync on that, I have some text we can use if we need a motivation.
@fgeorgatos: I think I have to agree with Jens, the main track is over the top.
But, we can certainly do a (or multiple) EasyBuild talks at FOSDEM. It would also be a good discussion for the next EasyBuild hackathon (given the central location and the environment).
I liked the title you suggested to me better: "Building Scientific Applications for the Masses".

hm... this issue should really be visible in the "easybuild" repo instead :)
anyway, here's another target among the zillions: http://sciencepad.web.cern.ch/
we should talk to the http://www.rescale.com/ folks too...
At some point, we should consider a paper in the Journal for Open Research Software, see http://openresearchsoftware.metajnl.com/about/editorialPolicies#sectionPolicies wrt the section on "Issues in Research Software"
and while we are at it (journals), this one could perhaps be relevant, too: http://www.hpcwire.com/off-the-wire/dongarra-team-start-new-supercomputing-journal/

showterm.io is a nice tool for capturing the use of EB in an animated way. It can then be embedded onto web pages, etc.
I'll close this, no need to have an issue open for this, we already actively promote EasyBuild whenever we get the chance...
