Flipping between fairly large png/jpg files takes multiple seconds, and no indicator is shown

When I'm browsing 40-50 MB png/jpeg files the read and process sometimes takes a few seconds for each picture (even slower on an usb2 pendrive). A loading indicator would be nice, otherwise whenever you press one of the arrows you have the feeling that the next image is a duplicate of the current one (until the new image is loaded).

So, please give us a loading indicator of some sorts.

Another solution is to remove the image from the screen as soon as one of the arrows are pressed. So a black screen is visible while the image loads.
