biggest advantage is that it is already implement4ed, working & used by biosamples.
changing BioSamples to use something else is easy becuase it would be just a single call to get shcema by id.

After a discussion between Tony and Amnon we decided it the fact that the schema store already exists and working beats the other options. It might need some minor api additions and some cleanup, but overall, it offers the functionality we need and is already working.
