Dear ChEBI Curators,
The fungus, Aspergillus nidulans, possesses genes involved in the biosynthesis of the meroterpenoids, austinol and dehydroaustinol. I would like to request ChEBI terms for these two compounds. The references below describe the chemical formulas/structures of these compounds.
Two separate gene clusters encode the biosynthetic pathway for the meroterpenoids austinol and dehydroaustinol in Aspergillus nidulans. A genome-wide polyketide synthase deletion library uncovers novel genetic links to polyketides and meroterpenoids in Aspergillus nidulans.
