vitamin D3 and its derivatives #2755

In looking at how we're using vitamin D3 in GO terms, is it worth having a grouping term in ChEBI for vitamin D3 (calciol; CHEBI:27300) and it's structural derivatives (calcidiol; CHEBI:17933 and calcitriol; CHEBI:17823)?

Inactive vitamin D3 (calciol) is hydroxylated at the 25 position to form calcidiol, then subsequently at the 1-position to form the biologically active form of vitamin D3: calcitriol.

vitamin D3s --[isa]calciol; CHEBI:27300 --[isa]calcidiol; CHEBI:17933 --[isa]calcitriol; CHEBI:17823

? Thanks, Becky

Hi Becky,

Now done. To avoid confustion over the meaning of the 's', I opted for the ChEBI Name
D3 vitamins (CHEBI:73558), with vitamin D3s as a synonym. The entry will become public with the next release of ChEBI, scheduled for Monday 3rd June.

Kind regards, Gareth
