NTR: astechrome NTR: hexadehydroastechrome

Dear ChEBI Curators, The pathogenic fungus, A. fumigatus, produces 2 recently identified secondary metabolites, astechrome and hexadehydroastechrome, the structure of which is described in detail in PMID:23360537. I would ultimately like to request GO terms for the biosynthesis of these related compounds.

By the way, the flurry of compounds I requested last year recently led to a publication: "Comprehensive annotation of secondary metabolite biosynthetic genes and gene clusters of Aspergillus nidulans, A. fumigatus, A. niger and A. oryzae" PMID:23617571. All the GO term requests involved ChEBI term requests so your work was important in helping me to expand the GO in area of secondary metabolism, which in turn is an extremely active area of fungal research, the annotation of which is of great benefit to the scientific community.

So thanks for all of your awesome hard work. I really appreciate it!

Hi Diane,

Nice to hear there was a good outcome!

I have now created: astechrome (CHEBI:73877) and hexadehydroastechrome (CHEBI:73878). The entries will become public with the next release of ChEBI, scheduled for Monday July 1st.

Kind regards, Gareth
