I think there is a mistake here:

We can see the conjugate path through the triad of 2,3-dihydroxypropanoate
There is a corresponding triad for tartaric acid
the placement of tartrate as a parent of the 2,3-dihydroxypropanoate anions seems incorrect

This is inconsistent with the (incomplete) definitions:
