There will be an updated version of P2G later this year which will make use of services provided by the new version of QuickGO, which will be entering its public beta phase this month. When that is available, one of the changes that we intend to make is to do exactly what you suggest, and also to sort the search results so that proteins that are part of the UniProt reference proteome for a species are ranked higher than those that aren't.
Great!!! Thnx for the reply.
Situation/problem: When performing a search in the search text field a preview is returned in a yellow pop-up. When searching for a protein entry it is unclear whether a protein entry represents a reviewed sequence or not. Annotators solve this currently by looking up the accession of the reviewed sequence on uniprot.org and copy-paste this into Protein2GO. This is a unnecessary step that can be removed easily.
Desired feature: Add new column to yellow preview that indicates the reviewed status of a protein entry.
Desired effect: Annotators do not have to switch between websites to find the canonical/reference sequence to annotate against.
