[BUG] - Games are not launching, eventho it thinks they are. #1381

I am trying to get some games to work, after switching over to Linux Mint, like Risk of Rain 2. When i try to launch them, it tells me that they are launching via Steam, but they aren't. A Steam window pops up for a fraction of a second saying: "Updating Steam" and "Verifying Installation...". Afterwards, nothing more happens. This is the case if I start it with and without mods.

I sadly have no idea what causes the issue, so I can't give any Tips on recreation.

I have read a lot that people did not chose the right directory for Steam or the game itself and I am not sure if mine are set correctly, but I think so. They are set to "/home/potatolotl/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Risk of Rain 2" and "/home/potatolotl/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam"

same thing is happening to me, even after putting --no-sandbox or --in-process-gpu before the appimage steam opens 2 windows, the first being the steam setup reading: "updating steam runtime environment" and the second being the steam updater with "verifying installation" which both quickly close nothing happens for about 15 seconds, and then steamwebhelper stops responding and pops up with a crash message this occurs on multiple games, and with different commands used image crash message
