What is the policy regarding including pack sizes in BNF codes? #41

In the pseudo-BNF, in general one BNF code corresponds to either a VMP (generic prescribing) or AMP (branded prescribing).

However, some MDFs include a dose size, e.g. Glyceryl Trinit_A/Spy 400mcg 180D CFF (BNF code 0206010F0AACFCF), and as such indicate an AMPP or VMPP.

It would be useful to understand the policy on when / why this happens.

In particular, it may shine a light on our puzzling over quantity. For example, we hypothesise that products which are special containers and have unique per-pack-size codes in the BNF are not affected by this issue the pack/quantity issue.
