6 years ago This appears to no longer be the case. The build on melpa is the most recent commit in the repository.
Even though the recipe has been changed to use this repo, it looks like it hasn't been rebuilt since Jan 1st of 2016 (over a year ago).
Maybe it just needs a new commit to pick up changes and rebuild ECB?
