Gravity Well Revamp? #907

Describe the feature request

What if the Gravity Well system was replaced with a custom version of the Scaffolding block? Could occupy a 3x3 area in the center of the room serving as both a method of moving up and down, and more-or-less removes the possibility of accidental fall damage that the current system has.

I'm not familiar enough with programming to know how viable the idea is, but I thought it worth sharing!

Describe alternatives you've considered

If not possible, maybe the protection of the pink wool could be extended outwards by a block or two?

you could place the pink blocks around and update them with tardis update gravity down i think
