i would also like to symlink mesa to either the upstream extra ../../../repo/extra/mesa/sources along with ../../../repo/wayland/wlroots, or should we not symlink?

I don't think it would be wise to symlink since this repo can be located anywhere on the users hdd.

It would make sense to link to our mesa though.
