As you could have noticed in my previous issue, my setup currently consists on measuring the fly's activity on the ball. Right now, we're using the "FlyFizz" Fly-on-a-ball, that was developed back in Janelia. Even though it works pretty well, the mouse chip used in the treadmill tracking cameras is no longer available, and we don't have many spare parts if we want to build new setups, or if ours break down.
There are currently newer methods to track the flyball rotation, such as FicTrac, although we never really implemented them in the lab. Did you ever measure ball rotations? If so, what did you do? Did you ever add FicTrac to Bonsai before?
Any chance you could just buy a high-spec'd gaming mouse and try to measure the movement of the ball with it? Bonsai can easily read from this HID sensors.

Thanks once again for the help!
