Initial pass on SMD-branch. second pass layout done. TODO: add casing and board-mount pot considerations. consider housing in a standard DB-shell

can't be worse than mine! I've also made a ton of updates since this PR. I'm satisfied it's "good" now (had some unconnected grounds i missed til this morning) so can PR the new changes if you want
