- Start CREST2 and a Chrome with liveview
- Change liveview to CREST2, the worker delay to 1000 (= 1 second), open the Chrome developer console, go to the "Console" Tab and filter the output to "+,"
- Start pcars2 choose a Singleplayer Race with at least 5 laps, no other pre sessions, standing start, no AI take the "Mini" as car, because it has a narrow turning circle and is good controllable on asphalt and grass. Choose the track and start the race.
- After the lights go green drive over the start/finish line and then 10m further and position your car on one track border or exactly in the mid of the track depending on what you want to capture. Border means the left 2 tires on grass and the right 2 tires on track, if you record the left border. The center of your car must be over the white border line. The car is standing now. Change to external camera view and press Ctrl+K. Now change the view more to top rear with the Num Numbers and bring the camera a bit away with "W" and "Num 7". The goal is having a good view to see if the car is centered over the white border line.
- Alt Tab out of the game and go to liveview, clear the developer console output and go back to the game.
- Now accelerate and follow the border line, in turns not faster then 20 km/h, on straights you can go to max 100 km/h, then the car is still controllable.
For the mid line recording don't follow the race line, because we need the track layout. And the race line goes to inner curbs on apex and to the outer curbs on corner entry and corner exit. Keep the car in the mid of the track all the time.
Further the center of your car is defining the coordinates. That means not only the center of left and right, also the center of front and rear. If you capture a border and follow a right turn, then keep your front a little bit left of the border line. Then your front/rear center keeps over the border line.

- Follow the borderline/mid till 10m before the start/finish line and stop there.
- Alt Tab out of the game, go to liveview console output, click the right mouse button in the output screen and save the logfile. Clear the log and go back to game.
- Drive over start/finish line again and follow from point 4 again for the other lines.
Process according to priority and the highest priority is on tracks where you have no idea where the track borders are:
For fictional tracks only border lines needed, mid line not. For real tracks mid line only needed. Border lines for refpoint tuning only.
