Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The contact information viewer seems to prefer humans from specific countries:

Let's prevent a gender/racist shitstorm.

Describe the solution you'd like One of these, I don't really care:

• provide all countries for selection
• provide only the countries which have actual contacts (make it based on the data)
• use a textbox

Hello, ever since, I am thinking a lot about this issue. Basically, it is not only here but on all places where I select a language. Fixing this issue can be very complex, see: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2022/05/designing-better-language-selector/. And this even does not solve the issue.

One boundary condition is, that the UI framework (AnyUI) does not allow editable combo boxes for PC and Web. Putting in all countries will give a long list. And I am thinking a lot, if I should provide a very long list (even sorted) for all users. This would be inclusive but rather unusable to all users. Thus I would make 99% of the user base unhappy for accommodating the 1% users.

A second option would be to provide a option in the options (yes, its a "hidden" JSON file) where the user could place his/ her favorite languages.

And NO: I do not want to spend multiple buttons or even custom modal dialogues on this single issue.

Hello, this is still sticking in my head ;-). I've prepared a branch: MIHO/Post_SpecConf_AsciiDoc_Redo_Langs). This branch:

• Allows a flexible configuration of the offered languages/ countries.
• Has a larger amount of pre-defined default languages/ countries (including in IDTA / IEC TC65 WG24 members); but still consice enough to be pragmatic.
• Can be "switched" to a fully inclusive behaviour by changing an configuration option (in AasxPackageExplorer.options.json or similar:)
• Always sorts alphabetically.
