Improve some of the test reliability #191

In response to the comments from #190 where some tests are failing, this improves some of the tests, especially on Windows.

@quyettrinhrvc FYI in relation to your test failures in #190 - I have identified at least two of them and have fixed them here. Please pull latest code and try again.
